The Youth Group Calendar
The mission of our Sunday school program is to serve as a partner, along with you the parents, to provide a basic spiritual foundation for your children. This is done through exploring the Bible through activities and instructional lessons that reinforce the teachings of Jesus. We also introduce them to spiritual practices (Bible study, Prayer, Service to others, etc.) for all age levels in small group settings. Classes are available starting with toddler through 8th grade: Pre-K & K, 1st & 2nd, 3rd & 4th, 5th & 6th and 7th & 8th. Maximum class size is typically not larger than 12 students, each class having two adult team volunteers serving as teachers.
For the younger children, the curriculum starts with biblical basics and stories that can be learned through creative story and song. The Bible is introduced -- starting out with location of major parts of the Bible and introductions of individual books. As the children get older, learning of the gospels, the Lord's Prayer, the Ten Commandments, certain key texts from the scripture and working on the child's Biblical memory are key components. The curriculum of the 7th & 8th grade class takes a more in- depth look at Instruction, Spirituality, Confession, Community and Discipleship (to assist them with preparing for Confirmation).
